It’s Not In Their DNA

(My friend is trying to fill out an application for a part-time job.)

Friend: “You were brainy at school?”

Me: “I was.”

Friend: “What does DNA stand for?”

Me: “Why?”

Friend: “It’s asking what my interests and hobbies are, and I want to sound smart and say I’m interested in DNA.”

Me: “Just put DNA, then.”

Friend: “But I want to sound smart!”

Me: “Okay, it stands for “deoxyribonucleic acid.””

Friend: *blank stare*

Me: “Want me to spell it?”

Friend: “No, I’ll just put DNA.” *under his breath* “Doesn’t even sound like it would fit.”
