I work in a large fruity electronics store that sells MacBooks, iPhones, iPads, etc. Since it’s not very likely that our customers will be desperate for a $2,000 luxury electronic device on Thanksgiving, our store is closed that day.

The day before a customer is just chilling out and playing with the iPhones.

Me: “Sir, we are closing in a couple of minutes.”

Customer: “Oh, wow, is it that time already? Okay, cool. I’ll be back tomorrow to try some of these out.”

Me: “We’ll be closed tomorrow, sir. We’re open again on Friday.”

Customer: “Closed tomorrow?! Why?!”

Me: “It’s Thanksgiving tomorrow.”

Customer: “Yes I know that, but why are you closed? I was hoping I could come back tomorrow.”

Me: “Well if you wanted to make a purchase, we could still do one now.”

Customer: “F*** no, I can’t afford your stuff! I just wanted to come here and chill, y’know?”

Me: “Well we aren’t open tomorrow, so—”

Customer: “—could maybe one of you open tomorrow? Just so I could hang out? I won’t be buying anything, so you don’t need to worry about me.”

Me: “I’m sorry, sir, we can’t do that.”

Customer: “That’s not fair! You got me addicted to your store’s vibe, man! Now I gotta stay home tomorrow and eat s***ty turkey!”
