(My girlfriend and I have just started dating, and we are constantly complimenting each other. She has Asperger’s syndrome, and sometimes thinks in a very special way.)

Me: “You are the cutest thing that has ever walked on two legs!”

Girlfriend: “Together we make a horse!”

Me: “I’m sorry, what?!”

Girlfriend: “I meant that since you are also the cutest thing that has ever walked on two legs, together we are the cutest thing with four legs: a horse!”

(After that, throughout our relationship, we say that together we were a horse, and give each other horse-themed gifts.)
