The Mother Of All Costumes

(I volunteer at my daughter’s school on Friday mornings. This being the last Friday before Halloween and the day of the Fall Festival fundraiser after school, some kids are wearing costumes. One girl comes up to the desk where I sit.)

Girl: “This is a costume. I don’t dress like this. I’m being an 80’s girl.”

Me: *I tease* “Oh, that’s too bad. You look great and I thought my style was coming back into fashion.”

Girl: “Well it’s NOT! I’m channeling my mother!”
