In A State Of Confusion, Part 12

, , , | Right | May 14, 2025

Every World Food Day (around October), our restaurant has a mini international food festival and prepares a few special dishes from countries around the world. It’s a great little event, and most people seem to enjoy it.

I ordered a string of world flags that I’ve hung up over the restaurant. One of the customers walks in, sees the flags, and walks over.

Customer: “You shouldn’t be disrespecting the American flag like that.”

Me: “I’m not?”

Customer: *Points.* “The American flag has more stars than that!”

She’s pointing to the Liberian flag, which is similar to the US flag except it has eleven stripes and only one star in the blue corner.

Me: “That’s the Liberian flag, ma’am.”

Customer: “Another thing you f****** liberals have ruined!” *Storms off.*
