I’m Closing Myself Off To Customers

(An old woman is sat at the bench in front of our open/closed sign. It turns 8:00 pm and we are about to close.)

Me: “Excuse me, do you mind just turning around that ‘closed’ sign in front of you?”

Customer: “No, I don’t work for you. And how dare you tell me to get out?!”

Me: “No, don’t worry; you still have until I’ve finished cleaning in around half an hour.”

(She then asked for my manager when I reached over and turned the sign around myself. Luckily, he wasn’t in.)
