If You’re Being Rude, It’s Time For A Change
If I’m extending my hand, put your money there. If you put it on the counter, expect me to put your change on the counter, perhaps slightly more forcefully than usual, while fixing you with a dead stare. You get the amount of politeness from me that you give.
Customer: “But I had my hand out.”
Me: “So did I, and I thought you’d prefer me to give you the change the same way you gave me your payment.”
