With Great Bacon, Comes Great Musicals

(It’s late at night and I have just made boxed macaroni with extra cheese, and added carrots sautéed in bacon-fat and bacon. We are sitting across from each other with our midnight snack and the bacon-fat has made the dish extra greasy and shiny. I had been having appetite issues and this is the first meal that I’ve sat down to willingly/eagerly in days. We are a lesbian couple.)

Me: *gesturing to the meal* “Look at this. It’s shining, shimmering, splendid.”

Girlfriend: *without missing a beat* “Tell me, princess, when did you last let your heart decide? A whole new world… With extra cheese and bacon, see?”
