I Hope They’re Covered For Water Damage
I am calling a customer back who has put in a special request online for their car rental quote.
Me: “Hello, sir, I am calling about your car rental request. You wanted to reserve the car from one airport and drop it off at another?”
Customer: “Yes! I saw that you offered that service!”
Me: “Yes, we do, sir, but that service is not offered when you’re driving from one land mass to another. You’ve requested a pick-up in Hawaii and a drop-off in California.”
Customer: “That’s right.”
Me: “That’s not possible, sir.”
Customer: “I’m not leaving the country! You offer the service!”
Me: “How were you planning on driving from Hawaii to California?”
Customer: “The interstate!”
Me: “Can you check the route for me? Maybe on Google Maps? I don’t mind waiting.”
Customer: “I don’t know why you’re making this so difficult, but…” *Sound of some taps on a keyboard.* “Hmm…”
Me: “Sir?”
Customer: *Shouting.* “You shouldn’t offer the service if there’s no way of driving it! That’s misleading!” *Click.*
