I had a potential web developer client send me their competitor’s site.

Client: “I want you to take this exact same site but change the color scheme and logo and put it back up as my site.”

I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, or give him an out, by asking:

Me: “So, you want something similar to that site?”

Client: “No, not similar. I want this site.”

Me: “Uh, well I can’t really—”

Client: “—And after you’ve put my site up, you need to take theirs down.”

Me: “That’s not really what we do.”

Client: “Ugh! That’s what the last guys said! I don’t think you web developers are all that you’re cracked up to be…”
