Teacher: “[Student], I never got your last homework.”
Student: “I turned it in. You must have lost it.”
Teacher: “I don’t believe you.”
Student: “No really, I turned it in.”
Teacher: “I wasn’t born yesterday, you know.” *pause* “Well, actually I was, but not this year.”
Student: *suddenly cheerful* “Happy birthday, [Teacher]!”
