His Computer Usage Should Be Closely Monitored

I used to work at an IT service desk. There was a user notorious for thinking he knew how to use computers, but in reality, having absolutely no clue. He called me, complaining.

User: “I can’t see Microsoft Word!”

I remoted into his desktop and saw exactly what he was describing. There was Microsoft Word on his taskbar, but it was nowhere to be seen on the desktop. I clicked around, wondering where it could be and why I couldn’t see it. Suddenly, it hit me.

Me: “Do you have another monitor?”

User: “Yes. Why?”

I did the biggest facepalm of all time.

Me: “Is it on?”

User: “No. Should it be?”
