He’s Moving Down In Society

, , , | Right | November 12, 2020

It is my mom’s birthday. We are out celebrating at a Japanese steakhouse that we only go to for birthdays. We have finished eating, and as we are waiting for the check, a man and his son are seated at the communal table near us, and another party of five comes in.

Manager: *To the man* “Would you and your son please move up? We need to keep the parties together for check purposes.”

Man: *Loses his mind* “I don’t want to move! I want to watch the chef put on his show!”

The chef cooks very dramatically with his knife, spatula, and all that.

Manager: “You are a party of two and they are a party of five, so you need to move.”

He continues to argue about moving. Finally, he does move and the manager apologizes.

Man: “Don’t say sorry; you aren’t sorry. If you were, you wouldn’t make us move.”

He had to move down one seat to fit the group. He was still going to be able to see the onion volcano and the egg show with the spatula.
