Her Reasoning Is Screwed

(I am finishing up replacing the doorknob and lockset on the door from my mother’s laundry room to her garage. I am standing inside on the laundry room side, putting the final screws on the trim bezel.)

Mother: “What are you doing? No! I won’t have those screw-heads exposed like that! It means just anybody with a screwdriver could come along and take the screws off! Then they could open the door—”

Me: “—and do what? Commit a ‘breaking and exiting?'”
