Hearing Is Believing

I work for a Bank. We get customers to call in for updates on applications for various things. Customers are able to track the full progress of the application online, so calling is irrelevant.

One day we were busier than usual. Managers advised us to remind callers to check online to save them waiting on the phone for ages.

Customer: “Can I have an update on my application?”

Me: “Sure. Just to remind you that you can track application progress online to save time.”

Customer: “Oh, I know, I already read the updates, but I wanted it read out to me because I don’t trust anything I read on the Internet.”
