He Only Prefers Foil As A Hat

, , , , | Right | June 7, 2021

I work in a diner inside of a grocery store. People can order off of the menu, but they can also buy any seafood or meat at the store and have us cook it for free. It has been announced that this service will end in a month. There is one guy who comes in every day to get a piece of salmon grilled.

Customer: “Where am I going to get my salmon grilled now?”

Me: “Well, there’s actually a competitor store that still offers the same service. I used to work there; it’s exactly the same thing.”

Customer: “Okay, I’ll check it out!”

I see him a couple of days later.

Customer: “So, I went to that other store and got some salmon grilled there.”

Me: “Oh, yeah, how was it?”

Customer: “I was afraid to eat it.”

Me: “Oh… I’m sorry to hear that. Why was that?”

Customer: “Well, they wrapped it in foil before they grilled it.”

Me: “Oh…?”

Customer: “Well, they got the foil hot on the grill. I know that’s bad because you can’t put foil in the microwave.”

Me: “Oh! You can’t put foil in the microwave because it can cause sparks, like if you microwaved a fork. Grilling food inside foil is actually a very popular way of cooking food. We do it here, too!”

The guy looked at me very, very suspiciously. I never saw him again.
