Has Been A-Salted With Caramel

(My family have just been trying a new flavour of chocolate, sea salt caramel.)

Me: “That chocolate wasn’t quite as nice as I expected it to be; it had quite a lot of salt.”

Mum: “But did you notice that some of the chunks of salt actually tasted sweet?!”

Me: “What?”

Mum: “I sucked all the chocolate away and some of the lumps of salt tasted really sweet.”

Me: “You do know what flavour chocolate this is, right?”

Mum: “Yes, it was salt and caramel wasn’t it?”

Me: “Yes, so do you think maybe that sweet salt was actually the caramel?”

Mum: “Was that the caramel?”

Me: “Yes… what else would it be?”

Mum: “I thought the caramel was just mixed into the chocolate.”
