(I have a hand-me-down shirt that has unusual flecks of pink and green color on it. On several occasions, the following conversation has taken place:)
Stranger: “That’s an interesting shirt design. Is it homemade?”
Me: “Actually, I don’t know. It’s a hand-me-down from one of my cousins.”
Stranger: “Oh. Did they make it, then?”
