I work in appliances. A customer is looking at a fridge with an ice maker.
Customer: “Do you sell one that doesn’t have to be hooked up to the water supply?”
Me: “If you want the ice maker to make ice, you’d need to connect it to a water supply.”
Customer: “Can’t it, like, pull it out of the air or something? I’m trying to save on my water bill.”
Me: “Sir, I can guarantee you that an ice maker that can make frozen oxygen is gonna cost you way more on your energy bill than you’re saving on your water bill. I’d also not recommend putting one of those cubes in your soda.”
He ended up buying a dehumidifier instead. I guess technically that’s pulling water from the air, but I really hope he doesn’t use that to make ice either…
