Guessing Gas

| USA | Learning | April 24, 2014

(I join a group of my friends at a table in the cafeteria.)

Friend #1: *super excited* “[My Name], guess what I made in lab today!”

Me: “Chlorine gas. You told me at lunch.”

Friend #1: *disappointed* “Oh, right.” *perks up* “But [Friend #2] is coming, and I haven’t told him yet!”

(A few minutes later, Friend #2 shows up.)

Friend #1: *said exactly like the first time* “[Friend #2], guess what I made in lab today!”

Friend #2: “I don’t know. What?”

Friend #1: “Chlorine gas!”

(A third friend shows up.)

Friend #1: *exactly like other two times* “Guess what I made in lab today!”

Friend #3: “Pot.”

Friend #1: *confused* “No.”

Friend #3: “A baby elephant.”

Friend #1: *even more confused* “What?”

Friend #3: “You told me to guess, and I take that very seriously.”
