(My boyfriend and I are currently long-distance. He’s making a model ‘Sculpey Jolteon’; a Pokémon. He’s not completely finished.)
Boyfriend: “It has a squid tail right now.”
(He sends me a picture.)
Me: “It looks like it has a platypus tail.”
Boyfriend: “Yeah, you’re right. Wait, what did I say?”
Me: “You said it had a squid tail. Squids don’t have tails, but I knew what you meant; the fins.”
Boyfriend: “Oh, yes! Thanks honey, I’m glad you understand me when I make no sense.”
Me: “Me too. Otherwise we’d be at an impasse.”
