Good Thing They Caught Each Other, Part 12

(My boyfriend and I decide to visit our local comic book/video game store, mostly just to browse. Before he can get out of the car, I rush through the front door and up to the sales clerk.)

Me: “Don’t let him buy anything without my permission!”

Clerk: “…um, okay.”

(I begin browsing in the back; my boyfriend approaches the clerk with a Pokémon game.)

Clerk: “Hold on, sir.” *to me* “This okay?”

Me: “Oh yeah, that’s fine!”

Boyfriend: “Oooh, what about that four-foot Kirby plush?”

Me: “ABSOLUTELY NOT!”

(The clerk seems taken aback.)

Clerk: “I’m sorry, he… can’t?”

Me: “I told him he’s not allowed to buy me anything while we’re in here!”
