Good Friendships Come Out In The Wash
(My friend’s clothes washer breaks and he asks if he can come over after work to do some washing. I agree and send him a text saying ‘come on over.’ He replies saying after dinner he will be there. I start doing my wash in the meantime. Half an hour later there is a knock at my door.)
Friend: “Hey, [My Name], I came over now because I have a date later.”
Me: “Okay, well you are going to have to wait until my load is done.”
Friend: *getting angry* “But you said I could do my wash! Why did you start yours?!”
Me: “You told me you would be here after dinner to do it.”
Friend: “Yeah, but you said I could do my wash! I should be able to do it! You gave me access to your washer and now I can’t do my wash because you’re hogging your washer!”
(Cue internal groan and stopping my wash to get him out.)
