Me: *singing along* “‘When you call me baby, I know I’m not the only one…’ I love this song!”

Brother-In-Law: “Yeah, he is singing about his boyfriend that broke his heart.”

Me: “WHAT?! Sam Smith is gay?!”

Brother-In-Law: “Come on, seriously? You didn’t know that? He’s very open about it. Come on; think about how he dresses, walks, and talks. I mean, what did you think?”

Me: “I just always thought he was just British…”
