Friends With Sheldon Cooper

| Friendly | June 23, 2016

(I am chatting with my friend. I am interested in whether his view of something matches mine.)

Me: “What do you think of [topic]?”

Friend: “I don’t know. What do you think?”

Me: “Well, I think [speculative observations].”

Friend: “How did you expect me to know that?”

Me: “Um… I drew conclusions from the available observations and credited you with the intelligence to do likewise.”

Friend: “…Shut it.”

(Later:)

Me: *jokingly* “Why did you tell me to shut up earlier?”

Friend: “Because you were inferring I was stupid.”

Me: “No, I was implying it.”

Friend: “You’re proving my point.”

Me: “I couldn’t resist. Also, it’s a line from The Big Bang Theory.”

Friend: “Ah. That explains why you like that show so much.”
