Free Of Gluten, Free Of Thought, Part 8
Two ladies have ordered the same salad, but one of them is Celiac so hers is gluten-free. I come over to check on them.
Non-Celiac Diner: “Yes, I would like to make a complaint. Her salad is gluten-free, but it tastes better than mine!”
Me: “Well, our chef does pride herself on doing the best with dietary requirements—”
Non-Celiac Diner: “No, no! Mine should taste better! Gluten-free food shouldn’t taste good!”
Me: “…sorry?”
What got me more wasn’t the diner’s ridiculous complaint, but that her Celiac friend was nodding along in agreement!
