I work in a craft brewery.
Customer: “Are your beer samples free?”
Me: “Yes, they’re part of the tour.”
Customer: “And they’re free?”
Me: “I will not be charging you any money for sampling the beers.”
Customer: “Awesome! I’ll sample all of them! Oh, but I can’t have any gluten.”
Me: “Uh… all of our beers are barley-based.”
Customer: “I said gluten, not barley.”
Me: “All of our beers contain gluten.”
Customer: “Oh… well they’re free so I’ll still try them.”
Me: “But they contain gluten, are you sure?”
Customer: “But they’re free, right?”
Me: “…but not gluten-free.”
Customer: “Eh… if I’m not paying with my wallet, I’m okay paying with my body.”
