(We learn English as a second language at school. The vocabulary of most students by fifth grade is still usually quite poor. We are giving a speech about environment issues. A low-grade student is talking:)
Student: *with difficulty* “There are many animals and… flies in danger!”
(The class erupts in laughter. Turns out he meant to say ‘birds.’)
