Flirting With Disaster

(My best friend moved to another country to look for work, but we’ve kept in contact. This conversation happened a day or two after I got a new girlfriend.)

Friend: “Mate, that friend of your girlfriend is stunning! Can you introduce me?”

Me: “Sure. She has a boyfriend, though.”

Friend: “That doesn’t matter. I’ll find a way to make her swoon!”

(It should be noted I loathe people who cheat due to past experiences, and he knows this very well.)

Me: “No. you won’t. If I introduce you, it will be friends only, and all of her friends are in relationships already.”

Friend: “So? I don’t care; I don’t know them so it doesn’t matter.”

Me: “Would you try to flirt with my girlfriend?”

Friend: “What? No! Of course not! I wouldn’t dare!”

Me: “Then why would you do it to her friends when they’re taken?”

Friend: “That’s completely different!”

(We stopped talking after that.)
