Failing To Target The Solution

(Our gym class is currently practicing archery. I come up to the teacher with a question. Note: I’ve been blind in one eye since birth and have no real depth perception problems.)

Me: “I’m having a problem. See, I’m left handed, so I draw the bow back with my left hand, but I’m blind in my left eye, so I have to line my hand up with my right eye.” *gesturing with my hand right over my nose* “Then when I let go I keep smacking myself in the face with my hand. Can you suggest anything I can do differently?”

Teacher: *looking completely confounded* “I have no idea. Just go back and do your best.”

(Sadly I really enjoyed archery; I just was just incredibly terrible at it!)
