Espresso Yourself Can Cause A Latte Problems, Part 2
I know it’s not the end of the world, but my name is Jon and not ‘John’, and I really prefer my name to be spelled correctly. This never happens at Starbucks when they ask for a name (I mean, I can’t blame them, as ‘John’ is the most standard way to spell a name that sounds like mine), so when asked, I say:
Me: “Jon, no ‘H’.”
Today, I’m getting my usual brew, when the barista calling out the names picks up what looks like my drink, and looks confused for a moment. Then they attempt to shout out a name that sounds like a sneeze:
Barista: “Jon-oh-hay-chee?”
Knowing it was my drink, I walked over to see the name written on the cup:
‘Johnohayche.’
Well, at least they tried. The next time I got my drink, I was ‘Bob’.
