English History; One-Oh-Dumb

(For the first month and a half of the school year we do a family history and culture project. The first part is an essay and the second part is a class presentation. The presentation grade  requires presentation skill. One student, who finishes his essay with the least amount of effort possible, decides to wing the presentation.)

Student: “My family comes from England, which has had a rough history. To this day the country has still not gotten itself together.”

Teacher: *starts looking suspicious*

Student: “To start, when England elected its first King…”

Teacher: *palm meets face* “Let me stop you right there.”

(Unsurprisingly, he failed the written essay as well.)
