Email Fail, Part 53
A customer’s transaction required me to ask for her email address.
Customer: “It’s in Idaho.”
My store is not anywhere near Idaho.
Me: “Sorry, ma’am, I don’t mean your home address. I was asking for your email.”
Customer: “I heard you the first time. It’s in Idaho, so I can’t get emails out of state.”
I find a workaround. After the customer leaves, the next customer in line says:
Next Customer: “Geeze lady, if you don’t want to give me your email just say that instead of making up a ridiculous story.”
Me: “Ma’am, after a year of working retail – and no offense to present company of course – I can assure you she fully believed what she was saying.”
