Driving Home The Lesson
(Our driver’s education class had just let out early. That day we had learned about the dangers of calling someone in a car. I am calling my dad to see if he could pick me up early.)
Me: “Dad, we let out early. Where are you?”
Dad: “I’m just on [Street Name]. It will only be three more minutes.”
(The instructor walks past.)
Me: *loudly* “DAD! IF YOU ARE IN THE CAR I MUST HANG UP WITH YOU BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS TO TALK AND DRIVE. GOODBYE!”
(I get an approving look from the teacher and the rest of the class laughs.)
