Drink Up Into The Attic

We are helping my friend install a new attic door for his mother. We had closed him in the attic and boarded up the door so that he could screw the hinges in while the door stayed stable, as per his request.

Me: *bangs on the door* “There you go. You’ve been Cask of Amontillado’d.”

Friend: *shouts through door* “I don’t know what that means!”

Me: “It’s an Edgar Allan Poe story about a guy who gets walled up with a cask of alcohol. Only we left out the alcohol.”

Friend: “That’s mean!”

Me: “Would you like for me to get you a beer?”

Friend: “I would like for you to get me an exit.”
