DONUT Come Here For Donuts
I’ve worked in a cookie shop for about six months now. We have a pretty limited selection, all of them on display. But despite the fact that these are the only things on the counters and advertised on our signs, no one seems to believe me when I say that’s all we sell.
A teenage girl comes up to the counter.
Customer: “What kinds of donuts do you have?”
Me: “Um… We don’t sell donuts. We have cookies, muffins, ice cream, and coffee.”
Customer: “But I want donuts!”
Me: “I’m sorry, miss, but you simply can’t get donuts from us. We just don’t sell them.”
Customer: *Crossing her arms with a triumphant expression* “If you won’t sell me donuts, I’m going to [Store down the street]!”
Me: *Smirking* “Great idea! They’ll have donuts, because they’re, you know, A DONUT SHOP. They won’t have any cookies, though.”
She stormed off, for some reason. Weird.
