Don’t Take The Mickey With Technology
(My mother is not good with technology. We are babysitting my two-year-old nephew and nine-month-old niece.)
Nephew: “Grandma, I need Mickey Mouse!”
(Mom puts down my niece to try and find a remote.)
Mom: “Umm, let’s see, how do we do this?”
Nephew: “Grandmaaaaa, tell Grandpa. I need Mickey Mouse!”
Mom: “How about you ask your uncle?”
Me: “No, I think the little peanut has got it.”
(My niece is on the floor holding the remote and pushing buttons. The TV comes on with a Mickey song playing. My nephew starts dancing to it.)
Mom: “How did she do that?”
(My niece, all smiles, starts humming and strumming her lips with the remote.)
Me: “Well, mom, she isn’t a year old yet and she can use technology and sing better than you!”
