Don’t Let Nothing Happen Again!
One morning, my boss storms over, holding his phone.
Boss: “We got a complaint online. Says, ‘Store attendant was rude and unhelpful today. One star.'”
Me: “Uh… okay? I don’t recall anyone walking out, refusing service, or leaving unhappy.”
Boss: “Don’t let it happen again!”
Me: “Sure, boss. When I figure out exactly what it is I supposedly did, I’ll make sure I never do it again.”
Boss: “Just… don’t be rude.”
Me: “Since I wasn’t actively insulting anyone this morning, that’s hard to quantify. But sure. I’ll try to figure out which one of the customers whose orders I completed successfully I was somehow unhelpful to.”
My boss just grumbles and walks off, having no helpful input for me, and leaving me none the wiser.
Since I’d never considered looking until this moment, I check our store’s online reviews on several review sites (like Google) and it’s mostly five-star reviews! Interesting how management never share THOSE with us…
