Don’t Hate The Player

(My boyfriend and I make plans for him to come over to my house and the night before the visit, he tells me that he has a surprise for me. The next day, he arrives an hour and a half early.)

Me: “Yay, you’re early! Is that my surprise?”

Boyfriend: “No!”

(He reaches into his bag and pulls out an unopened copy of ‘XCOM: Enemy Unknown’. As I don’t play video games, I look confused.)

Boyfriend: “I have had this pre-ordered forever. It came out today, and I came straight here after getting it. You know what this means? I’m passing up 12 hours of potential game-play to spend time with you!”
