Don’t Bring Your Complaints Or We’ll Bring The Heat
I work at a small non-chain restaurant where the owner allows us to suffer no fools. One particular customer has found ways to complain during every meal, mostly around the food being too cold. I am at the end of my tether with him…
Customer: “Excuse me, but the food is too hot.”
Me: “And that’s a problem?”
Customer: “You must have microwaved it because there’s no way it should be that hot.”
Me: “We didn’t, we just brought it straight out fresh from the oven.”
Customer: “Well, it still doesn’t change the fact that it’s too hot! What are you going to do about it?”
Me: “Well, I could leave it at your table and let it cool down, or I could move it out of your sight and let it cool down and bring it back. It really all depends how important object permanence is to you…”
