Don’t Bank On Their Security

| Working | January 10, 2014

(My mother lives in Florida, but is visiting a friend in California and needs money.)

Mom: *handing the teller a withdrawal slip* “I would like to make a withdrawal.”

Teller: “Okay.”

(The teller does a little typing and hands my mother the money.)

Teller: “Here you go. Have a nice day.”

Mom: “Don’t you want to check my ID?”

Teller: “Oh, no worries. I know who you are. You come in here all the time!”

Mom: “I’ve never been in this branch in my LIFE! I’ve never been to ANY BRANCH IN CALIFORNIA!”

(My mother closed her accounts with that bank. Anyone could have walked in and gotten money that wasn’t theirs!)
