Doing Serious Time In Hug Jail
(My sister is five years old, and in the bathroom getting ready for bed. My stepmom decides that this is a good time to tell my dad and me about how she was playing a little rough on the playground today.)
Stepmom: “So, apparently, she’s playing this game where they pretend to be dragons. But she’s the only girl and everyone she’s playing with are boys. The only girl character is the Love Dragon. The Love Dragons have to go around and hug people to drag them off to jail.”
(During this, my stepmom is laughing, and I join in. My sister overhears this.)
Sister: “That is NOT FUNNY. This is VERY SERIOUS! I can HEAR WHAT YOU’RE SAYING!”
