Doesn’t Have The Gift Of Foresight

| Romantic | February 28, 2014

(My dating anniversary with my fiancée is February 7th, so when we first started dating I told him not to get me anything for Valentine’s Day because we’d only been together a week. This happened last Valentine’s Day when we were still just dating:)

Me: “Happy Valentine’s Day, honey! I’m sorry that we couldn’t do anything for our anniversary. But here’s the best thing I could do.”

(I had purchased a really romantic card and wrote a long passage explain how happy I am to be with him and how much I love him.)

Fiancée: “Uh… thanks. I love it, but, sorry, you’re not getting anything.”

Me: “It’s Valentine’s Day! Why not? We’re not doing anything for our anniversary and now nothing for Valentine’s Day?! WHY NOT?!”

Fiancée: “Well, you didn’t want anything last year!”

(He was obviously forgiven and proposed a few months later. But I’m hoping he got the message for this year!)
