Depends How Poorly Your Bank Balance Is

(I work in a medical center. My job is to complete patient payments to their accounts. Outside my office is an ATM.)

Customer: “I need to deposit my check into my account and see what the balance is.”

Me: “Ma’am, this isn’t a bank.”

Customer: “But there is an ATM outside!”

Me: “Ma’am, the ATM is owned by the bank. They are not here in the hospital.”

Customer: “Then why does your sign say, ‘Cashier’? Do you not take money?”

Me: *sighs* “We do take money; however, if you hand me a check, it is going to your medical bill, not your account.”

Customer: *wide eyed* “OH! I don’t want to do that!” *quickly walks away*
