Deals With A Different Kind Of Seed
(My teacher is a professor at a university that specializes in agriculture. He takes the class near a village in the mountains so we can see first-hand some diseases of the corn.)
Teacher: “As you can see, the growth in the leaves shows signs of fungal infection. Anyone recognize which fungus we’re dealing with?”
Student: “Well, I think—”
(Before he can keep going, a woman from the village comes by.)
Woman: “You’re the doctor visiting? Come quick! Neighbor is about to have her baby!”
Teacher: “Miss, I’m not that kind of doctor. I study plants.”
Woman: “An herbal doctor? That’s better! No artificial medicines!”
(My grandfather’s class burst into laughter.)
