(I’m in my World History class. It’s the beginning of the year and we’re going over the very first humans.)

Teacher: “So humans developed in Africa. There was Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus… Basically all homos came from Africa.”

(There is an awkward silence, then an eruption of laughter.)

Teacher: “Oh, God! I didn’t mean it like that! I hope no one was walking past the classroom.”
