Civil Gun Control

| Learning | December 21, 2014

(At the beginning of class my classmates like to discuss current events. Sometimes we get in tiny ideological spats, but nothing too serious, except for this one kid, who raises his hand…)

Student: “[Teacher], what does it take for a civil war to begin?”

Teacher: “A lot of tension throughout the years, and major differences in things like ideologies, split throughout a country which causes its citizens to fight against each other. But what does that have to do with what we have been discussing?”

Student: “I think there should be a civil war between Democrats and Republicans.”

Teacher: “Wait, what?”

Student: “I mean, the Republicans would win. They got all the guns.”

(Everyone in the class just stared at him, totally dumbfounded.)
