Choosing The Movie Is The True Horror
My family decides to have a rare “everyone together” movie night. Unfortunately, we have four adults and zero shared taste. We’re looking at the options on the movie theater website.
Dad: “Let’s watch the action one.”
Mom: “Absolutely not. I want something with a plot. And talking.”
Sister: “I’m only watching something under two hours. I checked runtimes; half of these are hostage situations.”
Me: “Great. So we want loud, quiet, long, short. Anything else?”
Everyone looks at me, the designated tie-breaker.
Me: “Hmm, okay, I pick [Horror Movie].”
Mom: “Why would you do that? You don’t like horror movies.”
Me: “Exactly. We can all be miserable together.”
We settled on staying home and bingeing five episodes of the latest Netflix crime drama…
