I work in a retail chain drugstore. During the holidays, we carry an aisle full of gift items. A customer comes up to me in an aisle holding a boxed plush bathrobe.
Customer: “What size is this?”
Me: “That’s a ‘one size fits all’.”
Customer: *Confused* “What size is this?”
Me: “That’s a ‘one size fits all’. It’s designed for all sizes.”
Customer: “What does that mean?”
Me: “It’s made to fit the average adult female. Being a wrap bathrobe with a belt, it’ll adjust to fit most people.”
Customer: “I understand that, but what size is it?”
Me: “…a medium.”
She walked away happy with her selection.
