Chance Of Them Understanding Is Below Zero
I worked at a call center for a credit union. I had a customer call in one day complaining.
Caller: “Thanks to you, I have insignificant funds!”
This was the word he used.
Me: “Sir, you made a purchase that put your account balance a few dollars below zero. That went through. That was a few days ago, and has resulted in an insufficient funds charge. You then tried to make another purchase today, and that did not go through due to insufficient funds.”
Caller: “Why have you charged me a fee for using more money than I have? You’re a bank, don’t you got money?”
He wasn’t mean, just ignorant. I reversed the fee and explained how banking worked and said he had until the end of the day to get his balance back up above zero.
